About Palos Verdes Florist

In 2002, Erin and her husband Brian Neal purchased the largest retail flower shop on the Peninsula, with a prime location in the heart of the community, The Peninsula Center. Now residents can choose a florist that is there for all their life's celebrations, Weddings, Births, an Illness or Hospital Stay, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Memorials and Family Flowers for the Passing of Loved Ones.

Unfortunately, most local shops that people once enjoyed have had to close or change to event operations only. We are here because people truly want a flower shop with a quality product, and sense of it’s community. Here, shoppers can walk in and enjoy fresh arrangements, great gift items, and the wonderful smells that only a true flower shop has. Fresh cut flowers are always on display and ready for you to help design into a beautiful bouquet.

Why Palos Verdes Florist is the Most Popular Florist on the PV Peninsula

1. Our Dedication to Quality Flowers and Their Proper Care

Palos Verdes Florist is one of a select few retail florist that have approval to purchase flowers direct from California Growers in Carpinteria, a community located just outside of Santa Barbara. This is where we get the freshest hydrangea, sweet peas, oriental and asiatic lilies, freesia, delphinium, tulips and many other beautiful flower varieties.

We have these flowers cut specifically for our order and have them delivered directly to our shop.

From here our team begins a process that is repeated nearly every day. The cutting of stems, treatment of the water, the refrigeration of all flowers, and many other steps necessary for the care of each individual flower variety.

We have developed relationships with a select group of vendors that we trust and whom we know are giving us their freshest and best products. Along with our California Grown Flower Suppliers , we have our Equadorian Roses delivered 3 times per week direct from their arrival at the local airports.

Our imported tropicals, hydrangeas, and orchid varieties (cymbidium, oncidium, and dendrobrium) are shipped direct from New Zealand or Thailand We are notified for pickup as soon as these products have cleared customs.

Perhaps one of our greatest compliments came this past Mothers Day from a designer that works for many other shops. After watching the steps we took when our flowers arrived and the methods we use to preserve them, her response was “You must be In Love with Your Flowers..... Everyplace I have ever worked, we just cut them, put them in water and waited till we pulled them out for an order”

Hardly a day goes by without someone commenting on “how long our flowers lasted”. This is proof positive that our efforts and flower care are well worth the effort.

4. PV Florist and Our Environment

As news of environment issues have become more widespread, we have looked into ways we can improve our business operations to be Greener and more environmentally friendly.

Our first effort was concentrated on the vendors we choose to work with. We have been very successful in this area and are proud to say that one of our primary growers in Carpinteria has been awarded the Veriflora Award. This world wide observed award is in recognition to growers who have been certified for delivering only the highest quality products, produced with rigorous environmental accountability, while at the same time addressing the health and well being of workers, their families and communities.

We have just recently purchased a new vehicle for our delivery and pickup fleet. The new vehicle is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. This vehicle replaces a gas guzzler thus improving not only our vehicle emissions into the atmosphere but also the amount of gasoline use necessary in our business operation. Over the next couple years, we anticipate moving 100% of our vehicles to this greener and more fuel efficient technology.
